CEU Event: The Relationship Between Automatically Reinforced Behaviors and Physiological Responses

1.5 CEU will be offered.

Presenter: Nancy Salinas, Ph.D., BCBA, LBA (Harmony Behavioral Health)

Summary:

This event discusses the application of functional assessments and the use of physiological measures to investigate the role that positive and negative automatic reinforcement play in the treatment problem behaviors. Interventions that produce functionally equivalent physiological effects will discussed and protocol results used specifically by the presenter will be described. From a theoretical perspective, a discussion about the operant psychology principles of automatic positive and negative reinforcement, as well as, assessing the role that respondent conditioning plays in maladaptive behaviors (i.e., the extent to which sensory stimulation affects targeted behaviors) will take place.
