Summary: Feeding interventions present complex challenges that require BCBAs to balance ethical decision-making, client safety, and treatment efficacy. This panel will provide practical guidance grounded in the BACB Ethics Code and best practices for feeding interventions. Panelists will first outline how to navigate ethical dilemmas commonly encountered during feeding treatment, including issues related to assent, caregiver involvement, and scope of competence. Next, the discussion will focus on strategies for maintaining client health and safety when selecting and implementing feeding protocols, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and risk management. Finally, the panel will review data-driven methods for monitoring feeding progress and making informed adjustments to treatment protocols. Attendees will gain actionable tools to support ethical, safe, and effective feeding interventions within their scope of practice.
